The National Women’s Political Caucus is excited to share the launch of the Coalition for Women’s Appointments and our Appoint Women website!
Since 1976, NWPC has convened a multi-partisan effort to assure that qualified women are appointed to posts at all levels and in each agency of the new administration, regardless of which party controls the White House.
As the incoming Biden-Harris administration breaks historic new ground in their commitment to gender parity, equity, diversity, and inclusion, the Coalition for Women’s Appointments will be there to help recruit and recommend women to serve in the Biden Administration. Of the 35 recently announced White House senior staff, economic and security appointees, 23 (66%) are women. Additionally, the majority of the Biden-Harris transition staff — 52% — are women, and 53% of the senior staff are women.
We are ready to support their efforts and help build back better!
The mission of the Coalition for Women’s Appointments is to help recruit, evaluate and recommend the appointment of qualified women to senior-level, policy-making, and multi-tier positions in the incoming Biden-Harris Administration.
As a multi-partisan initiative, the Coalition for Women’s Appointments works to align collaborating partners and individuals who can help represent a diverse and inclusive process in order to identify and recruit a large pool of qualified women ready to serve in appointed positions in our federal government.
Our primary goal is to support the incoming Biden-Harris administration’s commitment to 50% gender parity for women political appointees with a focus on diversity and inclusion of historically underrepresented groups including women of color, LGBTQ+, and disabilities.
We hope our Appoint Women website and companion resources will serve as a one-stop resource to help more women get prepared to serve in federal appointed office.
