Ruby is the Founder and Executive Director of Elect Black Women PAC, which helps elect Black women to public office at every level of government, and the National Director of Development for Dream Defenders. 
In addition to running for office herself in 2022, Ruby has served as campaign manager for a senatorial campaign and led candidate training and development as National Deputy Director of the Leaders of Color program. 

In addition to serving in state-level leadership roles in the NWPC-TN, as chair for Tennessee AppointWomen in The Coalition for Women’s Appointments and on the NWPC Foundation Board, Ruby has also held leadership roles in Teach for America, The New Teacher Project, and The Achievement School District. 

Ruby serves the Memphis/Shelby County community as a member of the Junior League of Memphis and as a mayoral appointment to the Adult Orientation Board. Ruby was recognized as a member of the Memphis Business Journal 2018 “40 Under 40” class and 2018 Outstanding Young Alumnus for the Fogelman College of Business at The University of Memphis. ​

Ruby is a proud alumna of The University of Florida, where she studied Advertising, Political Science and minored in Secondary Education. Ruby completed her Master of Arts in Organizational Communication at Southeastern Louisiana University and her Master’s in Business Administration at The University of Memphis. Ruby is married and has two children under 6.
