We Love Our Interns!

The National Women’s Political Caucus (NWPC) is seeking part-time interns!

NWPC has a relaxed but lively work environment. Our staff is small so we rely heavily on our interns for the day-to-day operations of our organization. Our interns are progressive thinkers who are passionate about women in politics. We welcome interns from schools all over the country who have varied interests and diverse backgrounds. The only unconditional requirement is an unwavering commitment to women’s rights!

Internship Positions are open on a rolling basis:

Political Planning and Action Intern

  • Researches campaigns and candidates
  • Follows a current legislative event
  • Researches strategies for fundraising
  • Gathers information on local campaigns
  • Writes blog posts for NWPC’s Blog when asked by the Director
  • Assists with other office duties as assigned by Director

Communications Intern

  • Assists with writing, researching, and formatting communications for press releases, bi-monthly newsletters, and the website
  • Gathers material for NWPC’s social media, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.
  • Writes blog posts for NWPC’s Blog
  • Communicates with State and Local Caucuses
  • Maintains mailing and e-mail lists
  • Assists with other office duties as assigned by Director

Development Intern

  • Researches fundraising opportunities
  • Coordinates with venues to plan NWPC events
  • Prepares membership communications, such as renewal letters
  • Strategizes new ways of increasing organization membership
  • Assists with other office duties as assigned by Director

What We Expect

Prospective interns must demonstrate a foundation of strong writing, computer and research skills, attention to detail, and be able to work independently. They must be proactive and be able to take initiative. College courses or strong knowledge of political science is desired.
